A national call centre platform and information services portal supporting individual Adolescent Girls, Young Women(AGYW) and men to use free SMS and Calls to seek advice, counselling and support in navigating across multiple SRH and HIV services, report barriers that will generate evidence to inform policy changes at district level. It strengthens effective and efficient tracking and tracing of referrals and demonstration of referral completion using SMS and Calls. This not only supports access to critical health services but includes disaster alerts, career advice, entrepreneurship opportunities, scholarships, HIV/AIDS and general information dissemination on any critical issues affecting the youth in Zimbabwe. The Initiative’s aim is to make readily available all information that contributes to the empowerment of young people bridging a gap of fragmented information on critical youth services including access and uptake of services.
In time where HIV related stigma is high amongst adolescents, YAZ Helpline creates an environment that is confidential, friendly, protective and inclusive for youth diagnosed with HIV encouraging them to seek HIV treatment and support services.
Data sytems: Youth Helpline interactions including polls and serveys on issues that matter to young people is analysed and presented in visually appealing data sets that support decision makers and organisations to influence policy and make evidence informed decisions.
